         Soul Copy thematisiert das spannungsreiche Verhältnis zwischen Original und Kopie. Das Original steht für die Seele der Arbeit, während die Kopie die investierte Arbeitszeit verkörpert. In einer Zeit, in der Künstler ihre Werke ständig vervielfältigen und vermarkten müssen, macht die Arbeit sichtbar, dass jeder Kreative einen Teil seiner inneren Substanz preisgeben muss, um finanziell zu überleben.
        Jonas Wyssen reflektiert mit dieser Arbeit den existentiellen Handel, den viele Künstler heute eingehen. Sie wird zu einem stillen, aber eindringlichen Kommentar über die Ökonomie der Kreativität und die Frage, wie viel von der eigenen Seele in die Reproduktion und Vermarktung fliesst. Die Arbeit wurde im Rahmen einer Einzelausstellung 2024 im Kunstraum Dreiviertel in Bern ausgestellt.

        Soul Copy explores the tense relationship between original and copy. The original stands for the soul of the work, while the copy embodies the invested working time. In an era where artists must constantly multiply and market their works, the piece makes visible that every creative must give away a part of their inner substance in order to survive financially.
        With this work Jonas Wyssen reflects on the existential trade that many artists enter into today. It becomes a quiet yet powerful commentary on the economy of creativity and the question of how much of one’s own soul flows into reproduction and commercialization. The work was exhibited as part of a solo exhibition in 2024 at Kunstraum Dreiviertel in Bern.
