The installation Voltage consists of twelve real power cables that Jonas Wyssen has arranged into a strict, grid-like structure. The cables resemble the bars of an invisible prison and convey the physical presence of high electrical voltage. At the ends of the cables hang long, dripping plug pins — a visual sign that the voltage is so high that it causes the material itself to melt and drip.
The work escalates at this point: the seemingly controlled energy turns into overload. Jonas Wyssen addresses the permanent pressure and the invisible strain of the digital workplace. What begins as a pure electrical installation becomes a quiet yet powerful commentary on the physical and psychological limits faced by humans in a world that is permanently under tension.
